Story synopsis

Mo Zhi and Shen Xu agree to spend a season observing discarded floral materials from a corner flower shop to find a stable way to reuse them, but the first batch of experiments fails due to management errors. She wants to clear away the foul-smelling parts as quickly as possible, while he insists on recording the failure conditions first. The two reduce the quantities and change methods, keeping only verifiable results; what remains at the end of the season is not the perfect cycle seen in publicity, but a set of operational notes knowing when one ought to stop.
