Story synopsis

He Rui and Shen Zhi share an apartment but avoid each other due to work-related noise, turning the living room under the lamp from a shared space into a corridor where they merely cross paths. Since moving is not immediately within their budget, they begin by setting designated hours for recording and phone calls, reserving the dinner table free of work. She is able to focus at home once again, and he no longer has to guess when he might disturb her; the first step toward restoring closeness is allowing each other distinct, dedicated solitude.
