Story synopsis
Just as the bakery opens in the morning, Gu Lin finishes an all-night shift and comes in to buy breakfast; Xu He offers her customary morning greeting, but from his fatigue realizes that his day is actually coming to an end. She streamlines her otherwise enthusiastic introductions of new items into clear choices so he can quickly take his meal home. Gu Lin later works out his own pickup times, and the two no longer use the same clock to guess each other's status; that 'good night' at the doorway becomes a precise little greeting across differing schedules.
